Ashmor Plumbing Pty Ltd

Project Size:

22.2kW Rooftop Solar

Ashmor Plumbing Pty Ltd is recognised for its high standard of work and dedication to environmentally responsible, resource-efficient and sustainable plumbing solutions for homes, businesses and industry. By working with [Your Company Name], Ashmor Plumbing is making a bold decision to bring its day-to-day energy consumption in line with its eco-conscious values.

But this is not just a solar installation for savings on power bills; it is part of our strategy to reduce carbon emissions and demonstrate leadership in responsible business practices within the construction and trades industry.

Key Project Stats

22.2kW rooftop solar system

Estimated 85–90% daytime energy self-sufficiency

Projected annual carbon offset: ~29 tonnes CO₂

OBJECTIVES

Ashmor Plumbing wanted to reduce its dependence on the grid and protect its business from increasing power bills. With electricity-fuelled activity and a growing number of vehicles and equipment, the business viewed solar as a sensible and sustainable choice.

They were looking to future-proof their operations and make meaningful contributions towards improving their sustainability goals. What they required was a solution that would operate dependably in varying load conditions, and in particular during peak workshop activity hours.

Sustainability is not only about the planet,” said the company’s operations manager, “It’s about creating a smarter, stronger business.”

SOLUTION

AYKA Solar delivered a 22.2kW rooftop solar PV system tailored to Ashmor Plumbing’s daily operational profile. The system was designed to offset the majority of daytime energy use, particularly during high-demand periods such as machinery operation, tool recharging, and administrative work.

Using Tier-1 solar panels and a high-efficiency inverter system, the installation ensures long-term reliability and maximum energy capture.

All work was completed with minimal disruption to day-to-day business, thanks to a carefully scheduled installation process.

“The install team was efficient, professional, and respectful of our space—we didn’t lose a single day of productivity.”

CHALLENGES

One of the primary challenges was integrating the solar system into an active workshop environment without interfering with ongoing operations. The electrical infrastructure also required minor upgrades to support future expansion, including potential EV charging.

The installation team worked closely with Ashmor’s onsite personnel to stage the works and schedule downtime strategically. Attention was also paid to ensuring that the system layout allowed for future battery storage add-ons, supporting longer-term sustainability ambitions.

“We wanted flexibility. AYKA Solar designed a system that meets our needs now, and leaves room for tomorrow.”

THE FUTURE

THE PERFECT TIME TO LOOK INTO BATTERY STORAGE AND EV CHARGERS. At the time of installing their high performance system, Ashmor Plumbing Pty has been considering adding more efficient battery storage for EV charging. On-site solar will have the potential to contribute to sustainable power for future transportation requirements as their fleet becomes hybrid or electric-powered.

The project, which has been successfully delivered, has not only cut operational costs but also strengthened Ashmor’s philosophy of innovative and forward-thinking business. A solid foundation for a greener, more resilient future.

“Ashmor Plumbing is a great example of how trades-based businesses can lead the way in practical sustainability. We’re proud to have delivered a solution that saves money, cuts emissions, and supports long-term business growth.”
