Case Study
Auburn, NSW

Project Size:
96.25kW Rooftop Solar
Known for precision, performance, and innovation in industrial operations, this Western Sydney business expanded its energy strategy with a large-scale rooftop solar installation at its Auburn facility. With increasing power demands from production equipment and office operations, the switch to solar was a smart, future-focused decision to cut costs and drive sustainability.
In partnership with AYKA Solar, a 96.25kW high-efficiency rooftop system was installed—one that now powers daily operations with clean, renewable energy. More than just an infrastructure upgrade, this project represents a bold commitment to energy independence and environmental responsibility in a competitive industrial landscape.
Key Project Stats
395MWh in daily generation
80- 85% self-sufficiency overall
Machinery, lighting, and office loads supported by solar
OBJECTIVES
The Auburn facility was facing rising electricity bills and sought to future-proof its energy usage. With consistent daytime operations driven by fabrication machinery and lighting, solar was a clear solution to reduce grid dependency and lower long-term operational expenses.
The core objectives included:
- Reducing power costs
- Improving supply reliability
- Aligning operations with sustainability goals
- Boosting overall energy efficiency across the site
SOLUTION
AYKA Solar delivered a custom-engineered 96.25kW rooftop system tailored to the facility’s usage profile. High-performance panels and intelligent inverter technology were selected to ensure optimal production and real-time load management. A performance monitoring dashboard was also included to give staff clear visibility into energy output and financial savings.
Despite the complexity of the site, the installation was completed efficiently with minimal disruption to operations. Durable racking and structural solutions were implemented to withstand local climate conditions and support long-term system performance.
“This expansion was a smart business move. With AYKA Solar’s technical expertise, we’ve made our Auburn facility cleaner, smarter, and more cost-efficient.”

CHALLENGES
The Auburn facility presented challenges common to industrial environments: large but segmented rooftops, high-powered machinery, and a need for uninterrupted operations. AYKA Solar addressed these with a strategic layout to avoid shading, ensure structural safety, and maximise energy yield.
The installation was carefully scheduled to minimise downtime, with all grid approvals and compliance handled efficiently to fast-track commissioning and performance.
THE FUTURE
Following the success of this installation, the business is now:
🔋 Exploring battery storage for additional resilience
📈 Monitoring performance and ROI through live dashboards
♻️ Highlighting sustainability wins in client communication and tender responses

“We’ve transformed our Auburn facility with solar—cutting costs, improving energy security, and advancing our green agenda. It’s a smart investment that supports our team and our business for years to come.”
