Case Study

Hoju Constructions Pty Ltd

Project Size:

11.6kW Rooftop Solar

Born from a commitment to construct sustainably and operate efficiently, a solar install at their NSW office was the next natural move in renewable energy for Hoju Constructions Pty Ltd. After working with a progressive management team with a forward-thinking vision, the company wanted to reduce energy costs, supplement their environmentally friendly brand and lead the way in the construction field.

In partnership with AYKA Solar, they had 11.6kW of rooftop solar installed customised for their energy-intensive daytime business operations. The new system is driving tools, lighting and critical office equipment, contributing to the company’s efforts to lower its carbon footprint and ongoing operational costs.

OBJECTIVES

Hoju Constructions As an organisation with “roots” in quality, innovation and environmental concern, Hoju Constructions Pty Ltd wanted to ensure it incorporates sustainable initiatives into it’s daily activities. Their main goal was to offset rising electricity expenses and increase daylight energy self-sufficiency. The company was also looking to lead the way in sustainable building and to minimise its footprint through a modern approach to energy efficiency. Their investment in solar wasn’t just a financial one; it was an opportunistic decision that would also solidify their brand as a dynamic company working towards a better future.

SOLUTION

AYKA Solar conducted a comprehensive site assessment and designed a high-capacity 11.6kW rooftop solar system tailored to the unique energy demands of both Hoju’s site operations and office functions.

Using high-efficiency solar panels and an intelligent inverter system, the setup delivers consistent performance during peak business hours. Real-time monitoring tools were installed, enabling the team to view live energy savings and system performance.

The system was installed with minimal disruption, scheduled during non-peak hours and carefully coordinated to maintain site safety and power availability.

“In construction, efficiency and foresight are everything. Investing in solar is part of building a smarter, greener future—for our business and the communities we serve.”

CHALLENGES

The Hoju site had a variety of energy demands—from office appliances to inconsistent construction tools usage—which meant it needed a solar solution that could manage juggling loads from the morning to the afternoon.

The team also had to take the existing roofs into account and use them to ensure maximum yield. AYKA Solar provided a unique solution integrated with smart layout and creative location of panels to achieve maximum generation with the limitations of physical space.

Safety, timing, and minimal disruption were of the essence, and all were met with the proper planning and installation experience.

THE FUTURE

Now that the solar system is up and running, Hoju Constructions is:

  •  Assessing potential for battery storage and energy-efficient lighting
  •  Utilising real-time system data to optimise energy usage across the site
  •  Integrating their solar journey with clients as a part of their sustainable build tale

“Solar was the right investment. It’s allowed us to cut costs, cut emissions, and solidify our position as a high-tech construction company.”
