In a bid to encourage Australians to go solar and take control of their energy bills, the Federal and State Government has initiated an “Australia Solar Rebate Scheme” to help households and businesses reduce the cost of installing solar power systems at their premises.
The Australian government has set the target of 100% clean and green energy by 2050. Considering that the typical cost of a 6.6 kW system is about 6,000 to 9,000 you will be saving ~50% to 33%.
The above price is not exact. The price of each certificate and solar system fluctuates depending on the demand for those certificates and solar panel/ inverter supply. Also for solar rebates in QLD, some places may be in different zones.
The Queensland government has feed-in tariffs for any excess electricity you generate and send it to the grid. For certain existing customers, the feed in tariff rate is 43 cents per unit. However the newer customers are offered feed-in tariff rate of 6.583 cents per unit for regional Queenslanders, and as much as 18 cents per unit for exported energy.
