1. Energy Charges:
Peak Consumption: The time of day when the demand for electricity is at its highest. This usually happens during the morning and evening when people are using more electricity at home, like cooking, heating, or cooling their homes. During these peak times, electricity can be more expensive because the demand is higher.
Total Usage(kWh) | Charges per kWh | Amount |
Period 1 (Feb 1 – Mar 31,2024)
39.287 | 0.36674 | $14.41 |
Period 2 (Apr 1 – Apr 30, 2024)
220.087 | 0.36674 | $80.71 |
Total 1 | $95.12 |
2. Supply Charge: The fixed daily fee you pay to your energy provider for being connected to the electricity network. This charge covers the cost of maintaining the energy infrastructure, like poles, wires, and pipelines, regardless of how much energy you use. It’s like a basic fee just for having access to electricity at your property.
Days | Charges per Days | Amount |
Period 1 (Feb 1 – Mar 31,2024)
60 | $1.19 | $71.41 |
Period 2 (Apr 1 – Apr 30, 2024)
30 | $1.19 | $35.71 |
Total 2 | $107.12 |
3. Demand Charges: The part of your electricity bill based on the highest amount of electricity you use at one time. Unlike regular charges, which depend on the total energy you use over time (measured in kilowatt-hours, kWh), demand charges are based on the peak power usage, usually measured in kilowatts (kW).
